This is the second Learning from Earthquakes report on the Haiti earthquake of January 12, 2010. The report covers engineering failures and the social impacts of the quake. The EERI team responsible for this report, including members from partnering organizations — the Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation, the Mid-America Earthquake Center, Florida International University, Sherbrooke University, University of Delaware’s Disaster Research Center and Western Washington University’s Resilience Institute — visited Haiti from February 28 through March 7, 2010.
