Ongoing Strengthening of a Building in Van

February 9, 2018

October 2011, Earthquake Engineering Research Institute.

This is a building in which seismic strengthening was ongoing before the earthquake. Please see the formwork for new concrete shear wall added at ground level. At the time of the earthquake, those shear walls were not poured yet, but the building still stood the strong 7.2 Mw arthquake in Van.
