Virtual Earthquake Reconnaissance Team (VERT) Summary by S. Mohammadi & C. Avanes.
Salvatore Martino, Associate Professor in Engineering Geology at the University of Roma “Sapienza,” and his team with the Research Centre for the Geological Risk (CERI) are currently searching for the landslides and other seismic-induced ground affects caused by the 2016 Amatrice earthquake. They have already identified more than 150 ground affects, mainly comprised of rock falls and landslides. This information has been stored in CERI’s catalogue, together will the ground failures identified from the previous earthquakes in the region. The catalogue is open to the public domain: Italian Catalogue of Seismic Ground Failures (CEDIT)
