This GEER report starts with an introduction to the area and the seismological background and is followed by sections on strong ground motions, response of retaining and seafront structures, rockfall, and liquefaction. The GEER team was comprised of members from the Chilean Academic community and fieldwork on the reconnaissance started immediately after the event.
