Heidi Tremayne is the Executive Director of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. Heidi joined EERI in 2014 and managed many of EERI’s projects and programs including the Learning from Earthquakes program. She became Executive Director in 2017 and now oversees the Institute’s many initiatives aimed at reducing earthquake risk. |

Mike West is the Alaska State Seismologist and Director of the Alaska Earthquake Center. Mike directs the Earthquake Center in its long-term mission to reduce Alaska’s vulnerability to earthquakes through a combination of monitoring, research, and public engagement. As State Seismologist he represents the center to policy makers, state and federal agencies, and the public. |

Amanda Siok is the Earthquake, Tsunami, and Volcano Program Manager for FEMA Region 10, covering Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. She works on a wide range of projects, ranging from public engagement and risk communication to GIS and hazard analysis. |

John Thornley is a Geotechnical Engineer with Golder Associates in Anchorage. John works on a wide range of projects across Alaska, focusing on transportation and building infrastructure, in thawed and permafrost sites. He is also chair of the Municipality of Anchorage Geotechnical Advisory Commission. |

Dr. Wael Hassan is an associate professor of structural earthquake engineering at University of Alaska, Anchorage. He obtained Ph.D. in structural engineering at University of California, Berkeley, where he also was a post-doc. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in California where he led the tall building performance-based design practice at SOM, San Francisco. |
