The M7.1 Puebla, Mexico Earthquake damaged a significant number of buildings. Buildings reported with significant damage or collapsed appeared to be primarily brick masonry and unreinforced concrete structures. Univision reported on collapsed building, as shown in the screenshot from their article (Figure 1).

The earthquake had different levels of intensity throughout the surrounding area. Shaking intensity data: USGS. The highest shaking intensity and reported damage in Mexico City occurred in the areas where there is less dense soil, classified as lake bed soil. The following map (Figure 2) shows the approximate location of the Mexico City lake bed.

Damage in Mexico City is typically centered in the areas shown in Figure 3. This list may be incomplete. New information is still being received.
