On 19 August 2010, the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) convened a workshop with primary support from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). The purpose was to discuss key observations from the 2010 Chile earthquake, postulate themes for emerging research needs and opportunities, explore opportunities for collaboration among researchers in the U.S. and Chile. This report summarizes the meeting and its recommendations.
